The Cavaliers lost their first preseason game against the Atlanta Hawks on Monday night after benching most of their lineup, but the gang should be back for tonight’s action, with the exception of LeBron James.

What to watch for

  • Hey! Tristan’s back! It’ll be nice to see the Cavaliers ironman center suit up for the first time this preseason after being held out for precautionary reasons due to a sore foot. Hopefully he’s completely unlimited in his movement, and based on the comments both Tristan and folks around the organization has made, it seems like he’ll be at 100 percent.
  • No LeBron in this one, so it’ll be fun to watch Kyrie Irving, Kay Felder and Jordan McRae all balance lead ball-handling duties.
  • The Raptors are mostly the same as we left them, with notable departures in Bismack Biyombo and Luis Scola, with Jared Sullinger joining the team in free agency to replace them. Pascal Siakam is a rookie big that’s making early waves - keep an eye out.
  • The preseason is too damn long. Would anyone else rather just see the season start earlier so we can spread the schedule out more and completely eliminate four games in five days stretches? It’s nice having NBA basketball back and everything, but I am booooooooored with these meaningless games.
