Iman Shumpert on Warriors: “we gon’ bust your a**”

The Cavaliers guard is enjoying the rivalry with the Warriors

NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers at Philadelphia 76ers Bill Streicher-USA TODAY Sports

Through 15 games, Iman Shumpert is having the best season of his career. The Cavaliers wing has been an effective offensive weapon, shooting 47.1 percent from the floor and 43.6 percent from deep. He’s been doing that while adding along strong defensive play he’s been known for to this point in his career.

Shumpert has always been a unique character, from his hair, outfits, and hobbies outside of the game of basketball. Off court he fits in perfectly with a roster full of guys who love to express themselves, while on court he is a valuable piece when he’s on top of his game.

In a recent interview with Complex, Shumpert opens up about style, life outside of the basketball court, making a cartoon with Desiigner, and more.

From the interview:

Will you go to Trump’s White House if the Cavs win the championship again this year?

I’m not going to the White House.

On Draymond Green’s comments about wanting to annihilate the Cavaliers:

He should. We supposed to hate them, and they supposed to hate us. It’s OK. They supposed to take cheap shots at us. They’re gonna hate us, fam. That’s what sports is. It’s great. I love every bit of it. I’m glad he said that ’cause we gon’ bust they ass, too. You need to type that up: We gon bust your ass. Period.

The Cavaliers and Warriors seem like they’ve progressed to the point in the rivalry where both teams respect one another, yet fully believe they are capable of dismantling the opposition. It’s a fun time to be a fan and I agree with Shumpert that it’s nice to see rivalries still thriving in sports.
