Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue has been named Eastern Conference Coach of the Month for November. This is the first time that Lue has won the award and the fourteenth time in team history that a coach has won the award.
Coach Lue oversaw a spectacular month of November for the reigning NBA champions. The Cavaliers won 13 games during November and only lost three times.
The award is another piece of hardware for Lue to add to his growing trophy cabinet. Since his appointment as head coach last January he has overseen the franchises first championship and has the team well positioned to defend their title. In a recent interview Brian Windhorst, the veteran ESPN reporter, implied that Lue is LeBron James’ all time favorite head coach to play for.
Windhorst: This is the happiest LeBron has ever been playing for a coach. He can't straight up say that but he says it in code. #Cavs— ESPN Cleveland (@ESPNCleveland) November 29, 2016
Given his success since his promotion to head coach, it seems likely that more awards are in Lue’s future.
