For the second time in two days, the Cavs have been linked to a floor spacing big man. Yesterday, it was Channing Frye. Today, it's Ryan Anderson of the New Orleans Pelicans. Anderson has been one of the bright spots for the Pelicans this season, staying healthy and shooting over 38% from three point range. He's an offensively skilled player that could add shooting off the bench for the Cavs.
The Cavaliers are showing strong interest in acquiring Pelicans forward Ryan Anderson, sources said.

On the one hand, you can never have enough shooting in the NBA, and the Cavs somehow found themselves short on it in last year's playoffs after Kyrie Irving and Kevin Love were injured. Anderson would be nice insurance for a Kevin Love injury. On the other hand, he's a poor defender and can't really play center. The Cavs likely will have LeBron James and Kevin Love as better options at power forward. A more versatile player, particularly at a wing position, would seem to be the smarter play. All that said, he's a productive and helpful player, so it's possible the Cavs could really let him play to his strengths shooting.
