If LeBron James gets his way, and the Cleveland Cavaliers advance to the Eastern Conference Finals, he'll square off against one of his best friends in the league. That friend, of course, is Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade.
Per Tom Withers of the Associated Press:
"Naturally, of course," he said following shootaround Wednesday as the Cavs prepared for Game 2 with the Hawks. "That's since I've came back. It'd be great to play against those guys in the postseason. Throughout my whole career, I've always wanted to go against Wade in a playoff series. We've always talked about it even before we became teammates in '10."
The Heat are currently up 1-0 in their series against the Toronto Raptors after winning in overtime on Monday. With the Cavs up 1-0 in their series against the Atlanta Hawks, the two teams (and friends) could very well cross paths soon.
If the two teams do end up playing, it would really big a pretty big series. The mains storyline would of course be LeBron vs. Wade in a matchup between two of the league's defining stars. But the Heat have given the Cavs problems in the last two seasons since LeBron returned. If it ends up happening, it would be a series with a ton of storylines.
