Per a report from The Vertical’s Chris Mannix, Cleveland Cavaliers restricted free agent guard Matthew Dellavedova is drawing interest from the Sacramento Kings.

In his report about the Kings pursuing Dion Waiters, Mannix noted that the Kings have contacted Dellavedova’s agent in the opening hours of free agency. No specifics were given, but the Kings have a need at point guard with Rajon Rondo and Seth Curry both hitting free agency. Rondo is a unrestricted free agent, while Curry is a restricted free agent.

It’s early, but this is the first time Dellavedova’s name has been linked to another team. The Kings could be an interesting fit because they need a guard and also have money to offer Dellavedova a contract. And with Jeremy Lin just recently getting $12 million a year from the Brooklyn Nets, a baseline for Dellavedova’s next deal may have been set.

Other teams like the Philadelphia 76ers and Milwaukee Bucks could also be interested in Dellavedova. Because he is a restricted free agent, the Cavs will have three days to match any offer sheet he signs.

Update - July 1, 2:45 p.m.

In addition to the Kings, the Atlanta Hawks, Milwaukee Bucks and Dallas Mavericks are interested in Dellavedova per Chris Haynes of cleveland.com. Per Haynes, the Cavs would like to retain Dellavedova, but it’s early. Additionally, Delly won’t be taking any face-to-face meetings as he’s prepping for the 2016 Summer Olympics with Team Australia.

At this point, there have been no contract negotiations. But per Jason Jones of the Sacramento Bee, a sign-and-trde between the Cavs and Kings centered around Delly could be a possibility.
