Hello everyone and welcome to today's 'Fear the Newsletter', where Birdman comes to #TheLand.
If you have questions, concerns or complaints, drop me an e-mail at christopherwmanning@gmail.com. One note: as the summer stalls out a little, we may take a short newsletter break until J.R. Smith signs and the Olympics. In the meantime, we hope you enjoy. .

Over the weekend, the Cavs added center Chris 'Birdman' Andersen on a minimum deal. Andersen may not play a ton next year, but he gives the Cavs some size up front.
To get Andersen, the Cavs had to get ride of Sasha Kaun. And then Kaun was waived by 76ers. Pour one out for Sasha.
RIP to Nate Thurmond, who died of leukemia at age 74 on Saturday. Thurmond was a Cavs legend because he played on the 'Miracle of Richfield' team. If you don't know his story and his game, I'd recommend learning.
The Cavs lost to the Bulls yesterday in summer league action. Chicago had to beat Cleveland in hoops at some point I guess.
As a reminder, chat about free agency here and track all Cavs rumors here.
If you need a sick Cavs or NBA t-shirt, go support FtS' Daniel Rowell over on TeePublic. You may or may not see the header of this newsletter on a t-shirt in his store.
What to read/listen to today: The Ringer's Jason Conception on LeBron's block, The Ringer's Chris Ryan on the Bucks, The Ringer's Mallory Rubin on how to pick a second half MLB team to root for, this New Yorker feature on working in a hospice, Donald Trump's ghostwriter telling all and this Esquire profile of Liev Schreiber.
That's it for today. We'll talk to you tomorrow.
