Cavaliers point guard Kyrie Irving and the rest of Team were in action in Chicago last night against Venezuela. Predictably, the Americans rolled and Irving co-led Team USA with 13 points in 21 minutes of action. Irving also dished out one assist and pulled down three rebounds.
But for the first time on their current exhibition tour, Team USA struggled. They finished just 4-25 from behind the arc with Irving and Warriors guard Klay Thompson combining to make all four of Team USA’s threes. Dominance on the boards, however, carried the Americans to a 80-45 win against a team they’ll see again during Olympic group play.
Check out highlights of Team USA’s victory below. The Americans return to action for their final exhibition game on Monday, Aug. 1 against Nigeria. Tip-off is at 8 p.m. in Houston, Texas. The game will air on NBA TV and on USA Basketball’s Facebook page.
