When the Cleveland Cavaliers kick off their 2016-17 season on Oct. 25, the court will look a bit different.
In a release today, the team unveiled their new court design. While much of the design is similar to last year’s the trim around the court is now black in honor of the black jerseys the team wore when coming back from a 3-1 deficit against the Golden State Warriors to win the NBA this past June. During the past two seasons, the border was blue.
Additionally, the Cleveland skyline shadow effect has been removed and replace by the team’s sword logo in the middle of the court. In the release, the Cavs indicated that new features could be revealed prior to the season opener against the New York Knicks.
New season, new hardwood.
