Cavaliers rookies Ante Zizic and Cedi Osman have been sent down to the G-League Canton Charge for the weekend, per the Charge’s website.
Canton hosts the Long Island Nets tonight, so this is likely a way for Tyronn Lue to get his young players some burn since the Cavs are off until Monday when they play the 76ers, though that’s reading in between the lines.
This is Osman’s first trip to the G-League this season, and unlike Zizic, he’s actually found the court in spurts this year during competitive game action, though oftentimes it’s a result of the starters not playing well and Tyronn Lue being generally disgusted.
This is Zizic’s second trip to the NBA’s minor league, as he posted a double-double against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants with 14 points and 16 rebounds in 28 minutes five days ago.
As far as one can tell, it appears that John Holland and London Perrantes will stay with the Cavaliers during this stretch, but that could change.
