J.R. Smith missed the Cleveland Cavaliers’ shootaround this morning due to the death of a cousin, per cleveland.com. Per the report, Smith found out about his cousin while the team was getting ready for its workout on Monday.
Also per the report, Smith is expected to play Monday night when the Cavs face the the 76ers. The Cavs have not said why Smith missed the shootaround.
Cavs rookie Cedi Osman worked out with the starters in Smith’s place, ahead of Iman Shumpert, Dwyane Wade and Kyle Korver.
