Ante Zizic assigned to the Canton Charge

This will be the rookie’s third G-League appearance.

Ante Zizic is headed back to the G-League.

In a press release sent out Friday morning, the Canton Charge announced that Zizic, the Cavs’ rookie center, had been assigned to them by the Cleveland Cavaliers and that he would play on Friday when Canton faces the Long Island Nets.

This will be Zizic’s third trip to the G-League this season. In his previous two games, he’s averaged 14 points and 11.5 rebounds in 27.5 minutes per game. In his most recent outing, he scored 14 points and pulled down 16 rebounds against Long Island. With Canton, he has started at center and splits minutes with Kendrick Perkins.

The Cavs are off Friday before playing the Grizzlies at home on Saturday, so it’s likely that Zizic will be recalled after the game.

Noticeably not going on assignment with Zizic is fellow rookie Cedi Osman, who played 11 minutes against the Hawks on Thursday and and may see more consistent playing time with Iman Shumpert out.
