Help is on the way for the Cleveland Cavaliers, as we finally get some great news regarding the return of their All-Star point guard. While a return date hasn’t been confirmed, a major milestone in the recovery of Isaiah Thomas will be reached on Friday.

Prior to Wednesday night’s loss to the Sacramento Kings, Tyronn Lue revealed that Thomas will take part in his first full practice with the team.

Via ESPN’s Dave McMenamin:

It'll be a practice, get some shots up, cover defensive rules and principles and also scrimmage a little bit so Isaiah can get a feel and play 5-on-5

How Thomas performs in the practice and how his body reacts after the fact will likely heavily influence whether or not he plays Saturday against the Utah Jazz. He has been building towards this moment for months now, so this is a massive step forward in his recovery.

Malaise has set in for the Cavs and they have experienced their first losing skid in awhile. Getting Thomas back at this time, after their mid-season vacation in Napa, just might be the shot in the arm they need.
