This is the fourth time Irving has participated in the event. In 2013, Irving won the event and he also participated in 2014 and 2015. Mark Price is the only other Cavalier to win the event, which he did in 1993 and 1994.
The other players participating this year are Kyle Lowry of the Toronto Raptors, Kemba Walker of the Charlotte Hornets, Eric Gordon of the Houston Rockets, Wesley Matthews of the Dallas Mavericks, C.J. McCollum of the Portland Trail Blazers, Klay Thompson of the Golden State Warriors and Nick Young of the Los Angeles Lakers. The event takes place on 8 p.m. on Feb. 18 on All-Star Saturday Night.
Along with LeBron James, Irving will be an All-Star starter. Kevin Love is also an All-Star for the Eastern Conference.
For the year, Irving is shooting 39.5 percent the field.
