NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers at Detroit Pistons Raj Mehta-USA TODAY Sports

Here's today's Fear the Newsletter, where we will always try to set you up like Kyrie passing to LeBron off the glass.

TALK TO ME: In his return, J.R. Smith shot from 1-8 from three and the Cavs lost to the Pistons 106-101. Not great! Here's a podcast with three takeaways from the game.

LEGEND HAS IT: The Cavs have off today as they head to Orlando for a Saturday showdown against the Magic. If any news breaks today, it'll likely result in the Cavs being linked to whoever will take Andrew Bogut's roster spot.

ALL DUE RESPECT: The Clippers took down the Grizzlies. The Spurs lost to the Thunder with Kawhi leaving the game in the third quarter. The Jazz, Rockets, Warriors, Celtics, Raptors and Wizards all had the night off.

The Cavs enter Thursday two games up on the Celtics, three games up on the Wizards and 4.5 games up on the Raptors.

JOB WELL DONE: Yesterday's Locked on Cavs covered Cedi Osman, how the Cavs use the Canton Charge and Kay Felder's development.

And why not subscribe to the Locked on Cavaliers podcast and catch up on old episodes? Today's show covers the Canton Charge, Kay Felder's development and Cedi Osman.

CROWN: SI's Rob Mahoney on the '96 Mavs being the Warriors before the Warriors. Read Patrick Hruby's latest at VICE and thank me later. Read all of The Step Back's Next Generation series, a look at the wave of young talent currently making it's name in the NBA. Rich people look at Donald Trump in the Oval Office and think 'why not me?'. And, lastly, how fake news almost ruined a soccer's player transfer in Ukraine.

That's it for today. Drop your questions, comments and concerns to christopherwmanning@gmail.com and we'll talk tomorrow prior to Cavs-Magic.
