The Cavs finally won. It was against the lowly 76ers, but a win is a win. The victory will help in the race for the first overall seed but it does not change the reality that the team is struggling right now.
So instead of talking about the game I wanted to tell you a story of overcoming odds.
Our story began with the forging of great rings. Three were earned by Dwyane Wade, oldest and wisest of the original Big Three. Seven were earned by Robert Horry, clutch-est and most lucky of all NBA players. And eleven rings were gifted to Bill Russell, who above all else desired winning. Within these rings was bound the strength and power to govern all takes. But they were all deceived for another ring was made. In the land of San Francisco in the fires of Cavs Doom, the Dark Lord Stephauron forged in secret, a master ring, to control all others. And into this ring he poured all his lame shoes, his mouthpiece and his will to dominate all of Flat Earth. One ring to rule them all. One by one, the free fans of the NBA fell to the power of the Ring awed by the magic of 73 wins. But there were some who resisted. A last alliance of men marched against the armies of San Francisco, and on the very precipice of Cavs Doom, they fought for the freedom of NBA fans against the tyranny of 73 wins. Victory was far, down 3 games to 1 and it seemed the power of the ring could not be undone. It was in this moment, when all hope had faded, that Kyrie, son of the King, took up from three. And Stephauron and the warriors of San Francisco were defeated. The Ring passed to Cleveland, who had this one chance to destroy evil forever, but the hearts of men are easily corrupted. And The Ring of Power has a will of its own.
Our story picks up with the forging of a fellowship. The wise wizard Griffin the Grey put together a company of men and kings to help destroy Stephauron for once and all. Despite what seemed impossible odds Griffins fellowship, led by the King, set forth on a mission to end Stephauron and his warriors once and for all. Early in their journey it seemed as though the fellowship had an easy task ahead of them, but then members of their company began to fall in battle. First the great archer JR went down. Then other members were stricken with maladies along the way. The King and his company were shorthanded. And though they had defeated Stephauron’s henchmen in battles it was clear they had long to go before winning the war. Half way through their journey it became clear that in order to destroy Stephauron and his henchman Drayuman the fellowship must travel back to the precipice of Cavs Doom for it is only in the fire of the takes of Cavs Doom that the evils of San Francisco can be defeated.
So the King and his company began the long long road to Cavs Doom. But the journey to Cavs Doom is long and fraught with pit falls. Griffin the Grey prepared the company the best he could but once the trade deadline passed the future of the company was in the hands of the members. As time wore on the armies of the enemy began to overwhelm the company. The journey to Cavs Doom was taking a toll.
But even still today the company, beleaguered and weighed down by the task ahead of it pushes forward. The King and the company carry a heavy burden and are starring Cavs Doom in the face. Beating the 76ers wont vanquish Stephauron but on the long and lonely journey to Cavs Doom it is important to savor the victories. It remains to be see if they can persevere but the hope of the world rests upon their shoulders. For if they should fail Stephauron and his warriors will have the one ring and darkness will fall over Flat Earth.
