Richard Jefferson snubbed by the Shorty Awards

The man of the people gets denied that which is rightfully his.

If you’re like me, you obsess over the Shorty Awards. As the buzzer sounded last season in game 7, I was left with a sense of emptiness. An emptiness that could have been filled if Richard Jefferson had won a Shorty Award in the same year. Now, it is my unfortunate duty to report to you that he has once again been excluded from the 2017 winners.

For those of you that don’t know, the Shorty Awards honor the best in social media for the year. An area that Jefferson has excelled in over the past year, with his tremendously entertaining Snapchat account (rjeff24).

Some have pondered if Jefferson’s decision to return to the Cavs this season was partly due to the attention it would bring to his Snapchat account. So it’s possible that yet another snub may result in more great Richard Jefferson moments for Cavs fans in the coming year. (Note: I don’t think anybody actually pondered this, but you never know).

You can check the full list of winners in the link above. It’s also wise to remember that just because he didn’t win, doesn’t mean you can’t enjoy his Snapchat and check out what lil’ Kev is up to.
