Tyronn Lue on the Cleveland Cavaliers handshakes: “I wish we could remember our defensive schemes that well”

The Cavs head coach has some jokes for his team

Behind every joke there’s a little bit of truth.

After Wednesday’s team practice, Cleveland Cavaliers head coach Tyronn Lue addressed the media. Upon being asked if he has ever seen the players work on their handshakes, as well as where they come from he joked: “I wish we could remember some of our defensive schemes that well.”

But seriously, this is so much fun:

The Cleveland Cavaliers like to do things their own way. From their much criticized, but ultimately effective flipping of the switch, to the dancing and handshakes that show off the personality of the team.

When you consider how much time was spent on analyzing body language when this team was first put together, it’s great to see how close they appear to be now. That chemistry appears to be paying off, as the team looks better than ever with an 8-0 playoff record.

In addition to that, the Cavs even have the fourth best defensive rating among playoff teams. Which probably makes Tyronn Lue much happier than their pregame handshakes.
