Fear the Newsletter: It's a Cavs-Celtics Eastern Conference Final

That and more in today’s newsletter.

NBA: Cleveland Cavaliers at Boston Celtics David Butler II-USA TODAY Sports

Here's today's Fear the Newsletter, where we will always try to set you up like Kyrie passing to LeBron off the glass.

TALK TO ME: The Cavs were off yesterday, but found out that they'll play the Celtics next.

LEGEND HAS IT: The Cavs practice today and have media availability. They'll then travel to Boston ahead of Wednesday's Game 1.

ALL DUE RESPECT: The Celtics beat the Wizards last night 115-105 to win their series 4-3. They rode a Kelly Olynyk podium game to the win with Isaiah Thomas also doing Isaiah Thomas things.

Tonight's games: Warriors-Spurs Game 2 with Golden State up 1-0. Kawhi Leonard is doubtful. Tipoff is at 9 p.m.

JOB WELL DONE: Here's our Cavs-Celtics series preview. Is Ty Lue resting Richard Jefferson with the Finals in mind? Deron Williams is a big MMA fan. And Shump doesn't think Zaza is dirty.

Also: Subscribe to the Locked on Cavaliers podcast. Today's show takes a short look at Cavs-Celtics.

CROWN: Complex's Russ Bengtson on why retiring numbers is dumb. VICE's Michael Pina on the Cavs' defense still being a work in progress. BR's Howard Beck's feature on the joy of being LeBron. The Undefeated's Justin Tinsley on when LeBron really arrived 10 years ago against the Pistons. And the Ringer's Katie Baker has an oral history of the 1997 Knicks-Heat postseason brawl .

That's it for today. Drop any questions or concerns to christopherwmanning@gmail.com and we'll talk again tomorrow.
