Diana Taurasi is among the greatest WNBA players of all-time, and on Sunday night, she made history by passing Tina Thompson’s record of 7,488 points to place herself atop the all-time WNBA scoring leaderboard.
LeBron James has always been a fan of Taurasi’s work, and he congratulated the Mercury star via Uninterrupted.

LeBron’s support of the WNBA is another example of what makes him such a strong ambassador for the NBA at-large. After the Cavaliers lost in the Finals, James made sure to note that even though he was going to take a brief break from playing basketball, he’d find time to watch some WNBA basketball.

So we will see, but I will get away from the game a little bit, probably watch some WNBA games, though. Can’t get away from it. I’ll probably watch — my son’s tournament is this summer, so I’ll be a part of the game. But as far as me actually playing, I won’t. I won’t be a part of the game much this summer.
It’d be easy for LeBron to ignore the WNBA, but he, and many other teammates, have done a great job spreading awareness for a game that is too-often used as a punchline.
LeBron ripped into Charles Barkley for criticizing him when he felt like he’s been nothing but a perfect ambassador for the league, and, to be honest, it’s pretty hard to see where he’s wrong. He’s the kind of guy you want on the front page of your brand.
