Frye has one more year left on his deal.

A tweet from Fox Sports Ohio’s Sam Amico indicated that Channing Frye and Richard Jefferson were going to retire this offseason to free up roster and cap space for the Cavs. Frye, very publicly, has shot those rumors down:

What? Am I? #NoTheF$£6ImNot

“What? Am I? #NoTheF$£6ImNot,” he wrote in the caption of an Instagram post of Amico’s tweet.

Jefferson’s future is still up in the air, but one half of the Road Trippin’ podcast duo will return. Frye, 34, is headed into the last year of his contract and he didn’t play a major role in the Finals due to his issues on defense and on the glass. But in the regular season, against most teams, he can still be a useful pick-and-pop player off the bench.

It’s also a reminder that there’s a lot of information out there this time of year and sometimes it’s best to hear directly from the source. And, maybe, Road Trippin’ will continue to live on.
