Former Cavaliers GM David Griffin has his first interview since leaving Cleveland, and it’s with a team that also recently had a front office position open up.
According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, Griffin will interview with the Knicks as New York looks to replace the recently fired Phil Jackson in the front office.

Griffin reportedly clashed with Cavs owner Dan Gilbert about his control in Cleveland’s front office and his fit with Knicks owner James Dolan seems less than ideal. But perhaps the Knicks, who desperately want to get better, would give Griffin full control after Jackson had very little success during his tenure.
And as Griffin moves on, the Cavs still have yet to formally hire his replacement. It’s also not surprising that Griffin would be interviewing for a new job so quickly, as he’s well regarded and did a really good job during this time in Cleveland. Whether his next stop is New York or somewhere else, he’s likely to have a number off opportunities to choose from.
