LeBron James and the rest of the Cleveland Cavaliers will take the court for the first time in the 2017-18 season on Oct. 4.
On Thursday, the team announced its preseason schedule for the 2017-18 season. It is as follows:
Cleveland Cavaliers 2017-18 preseason schedule
DATE | OPPONENT | TIME | LOCATION |
---|---|---|---|
DATE | OPPONENT | TIME | LOCATION |
Wednesday, October 4 | vs. Atlanta | 7:00 PM | Quicken Loans Arena |
Friday, October 6 | vs. Indiana | 7:30 PM | Quicken Loans Arena |
Sunday, October 8 | at Washington | 7:00 PM | Capital One Arena |
Tuesday, October 10 | vs. Chicago | 7:00 PM | Quicken Loans Arena |
Friday, October 13 | at Orlando | 7:00 PM | Amway Center |
Of note, the Cavs will not be playing games in either Columbus or Cincinnati this year. Over the past few years, the team has traveled to two cities and drawn crowds of fans who may not otherwise get to the see the team in person. Cleveland is also playing one fewer preseason game than last year. Plus: Oct. 4 will be the first live look at the Cavs’ new jerseys.
It will also be interesting to see what the Cavaliers’ roster looks like when preseason play begins. Will Kyrie Irving still be on the team? If he is, how will everyone act? If he’s not, who will replace him and how will the Cavs adjust? For something that doesn’t always have a lot of intrigue, this year’s preseason could be must-watch.
