Canton Charge release 2017-18 schedule

For the first time, the Cavs’ G-League affiliate will play a game at Quicken Loans Arena.

The Canton Charge, the Cleveland Cavaliers’ G-League affiliate, have released their 2017-18 season schedule. The team opens the season its season on Nov. 4 on the road against the Greensboro Swarm, the Hornets’ affiliate. Its home opener is on Nov. 15 against the Memphis Hustle, the Grizzlies’ G-League affiliate.

Additionally, the Charge will play a home game at Quicken Loans Arena for the first time in franchise history. That game takes place on Dec. 28 against the Windy City Bulls at 7 p.m.

The game in Cleveland would be an opportunity to get Cavs fans to begin paying attention to the G-League. And depending on how the Cavs’ rotation shakes out, young players like Cedi Osman, Ante Zizic and Kay Felder could all be showcased in this game. At this point in the year, the Cavs will be in the midst of a post-Christmas Western Conference road trip.

The Charge’s roster, with mainstays like Quinn Cook and Eric Moreland on the Hawks and Pistons respectively, is still taking shape. Two other Charge players from last season, Jordon Crawford and Michael Dunigan, were selected in this week’s G-League expansion draft.
