LeBron James has very publicly showed how hard he’s been working out this summer. And soon, he’ll do so with his teammates.
According cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon, LeBron will “likely” host team workouts in September in California. Exact dates have not been set yet, per Vardon:
LeBron James, who leaves this week for his annual Asian tour with Nike, is likely to host his Cavs teammates for pre-camp workouts in southern California in September, though the precise dates have not been determined, a source said.
Every year since returning, James has hosted player-only workouts for the Cavs. In his first year back, they were held in Independence, Ohio, then in Miami ahead of the 2015-16 season and then in California prior to last season.
This year, the workouts could be more important because of the new pieces added to team. Specifically, the workouts would mark the first time Isaiah Thomas, Jae Crowder, Derrick Rose, Ante Zizic, Jeff Green, Jose Calderon and Cedi Osman will have workouts with the returning Cavs. Osman and Zizic, though, will start EuroBasket play this week and that would keep them from attending depending on when the workouts are held. And with the NBA season starting two weeks earlier this year, expect them be held sooner rather than later.
