In part two of his podcast with Warriors star Kevin Durant, Bill Simmons got to asking about LeBron James’ future. Simmons, for his part, sees LeBron headed to the Lakers and even bet Durant a meal on James’ decision.

Durant, however, says he doesn’t see it that way. In fact, he think LeBron will stay with the Cavs and finish his career in Cleveland.

“I got him staying in Cleveland,” he said.

Durant continued that he’s told LeBron as much.

“I, personally, always said he was staying,” Durant said. “I told him this. Ask me, I think he’s gonna end it in Cleveland. That’s hid crib now. He runs it. And I’m sure he’s going to turn that into something mega when he’s done. He’s gonna do something in Cleveland.”

Additionally, Durant sees the Nets pick the Cavs just acquired as a potential clue. He says that if the Cavs trade the pick, it’s a sign Cleveland has received a commitment from James.

“If they trade the pick, they know he’s staying,” he said.

Does Durant know what LeBron will do? Probably not. But it’s interesting to see Durant, one of the few players on James’ level, think he’s staying Cleveland.
