According to cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon, the Cavaliers are hiring ex-NBA center Primoz Brezec as an international scout.
Brezec spent eight years in the NBA with the Pacers, Bobcats, Pistons, Raptors and 76ers. After this NBA run ended, the 7’1” Slovenian played overseas for a few teams, mostly recently Al-Ahli SC in Bahrain. He was originally selected No. 27 overall by the Pacers in the 2000 NBA Draft.
Brezec will report to new director of scouting Brandon Weems, who the team hired this summer after David Griffin’s exit. He will also likely work with new assistant GM Mike Gansey, the ex-Canton Charge GM who will oversee all scouting efforts and the Cavs’ draft efforts.
