Kevin Love questionable vs. Blazers due to illness

The Cavs center missed this morning’s shootaround.

Cavaliers center Kevin Love missed this morning’s team shootaround due to an illness, per cleveland.com, and is listed as questionable for the Cavaliers’ Tuesday game against the Trail Blazers. If Love is unable to go, it is unclear who would start in his place. The likeliest candidates would be Tristan Thompson and Channing Frye.

This isn’t an injury, so there’s no reason to be concerned about Love moving forward. But it’s suboptimal for Love to be potentially out the same night Isaiah Thomas returns from injury and makes his season debut. There’s still plenty of season left to play, but the Cavs would certainly like to have Love start developing on-court chemistry and comfort with Thomas immediately.

Love’s officially status likely will be announced at Tyronn Lue’s pre-game press conference or just before tonight’s 7 p.m. tip-off. For the year, Love is averaging 20.2 points and 10.2 rebounds per game while shooting 47.1 percent from the field and 40.9 percent from three.
