The Cleveland Cavaliers’ Saturday showdown with the Oklahoma City Thunder could not have gone much worse.
The Cavs fell behind early — they gave up 43 first quarter points, which is the most a LeBron James team has even given up in one quarter, per ESPN — and never recovered en route to a 148-124 loss. The Thunder’s 148 points tied for the most points the Cavs have given up in a game ever.
James finished with 18 points, leaving him seven points shoe of passing the 30,000 career points milestone. He also had seven assists and three rebounds. Isaiah Thomas led the Cavs with 24 points. Kevin Love played just three minutes, scoring zero points, due an illness.
The Cavs have now lost five of their last six games. They next play on Tuesday against the Spurs.
