Report: Channing Frye and Iman Shumpert could be included in George Hill trade

The Cavs are offering Shumpert and Frye in a deal with the Kings

As we move closer to the Cleveland Cavaliers potentially acquiring George Hill, we now have some of the names being discussed in this trade.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, the Cavs would likely be sending both Iman Shumpert and Channing Frye to the Sacramento Kings:

It’s possible that the Kings may receive a future protected pick in this deal, or it’s possible that their front office loves Shumpert. Shumpert had requested a trade this summer and is one contract the team likely would prefer to get rid of. Although Hill is in the first year of a three-year, $60 million dollar deal that will increase the team’s long-term contractual obligations.

With Hill under contract, it raises questions about what the team plans to do with Isaiah Thomas. Hill is two years older than Thomas, who infamously stated that he expects teams to back up the Brinks truck for him this summer.

Should this deal go down, it also likely doesn’t address any of the issues the team is having in the locker room. Especially when Frye being a cherished teammate for many players within the locker room. If this move does happen, it almost certainly won’t be the only one.
