On Saturday, on the second half of a back-to-back, the Canton Charge fell to the Greensboro Swarm by a final score of 106-99.
The Charge, a night after trailing as many as 21 points before coming back to win in overtime, trailed by as many as 19 against the Swarm. They were able to cut the deficit down to four with 3:29 to go, but were unable to complete the comeback for a second straight night.
Guard Marcus Thornton, in a return to the starting lineup after a stint on the bench, scored 28 points and made 6-10 three-pointers; the rest of Canton shot 5-25 from three. Cavs two-way player John Holland scored 14 points with 11 of his points coming in the fourth quarter, while London Perrantes, the Cavs’ other two-way player, had seven points and eight assists. On assignment, Cavs center Ante Zizic scored 11 points and had eight rebounds in 19 minutes.
The Charge next play on Tuesday at home against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Tipoff is at 7 p.m.
