The Cavs are a bit healthier for Sunday’s home opener.
During his pregame press conference, head coach Tyronn Lue said that both Larry Nance Jr. and Sam Dekker were available against the Hawks. Nance has yet to play this season due to an ankle injury; Dekker suffered a head injury in the Cavs’ loss to the Wolves on Friday.
According to Lue, Nance will be on an unspecified minutes restriction due to the injury and will come off the bench behind Tristan Thompson as a result. In the preseason, Lue said that Nance and Thompson would alternate starting at center based on the matchup.
With both players available, and J.R. Smith no longer on the injury report, Cleveland is fully healthy for the first time in the still young season. Lue also teased clarification about the Cavs’ rotation on Sunday, Eleven players have played in each game so far, and Lue said he would only play 10 players on Sunday. With Nance’s return, Ante Zizic is likely to have his minutes cut.
