After experiencing Achilles soreness after the Cavs played the Raptors on Friday, Rodney Hood will miss Sunday’s game against the Bulls. Jaron Blossomgame will start in his place.
During his pregame interview, Cavs head coach Larry Drew said he had not spoken to Cleveland’s medical staff yet, so he was unsure if Hood would be out for an extended period of time. After the Cavs play the Bulls, their next game in on Wednesday in Memphis against the Grizzlies.
Although Hood has not been great this season, his absence does leave the Cavs with one less person healthy that can create their own shot. For the year, Hood is averaging 12.9 points per game while shooting 44.4 percent from the field and 36.7 percent from three.
In other injury news, Drew was not yet sure if David Nwaba would be out the Bulls, his old team. Nwaba, who suffered an ankle sprain in Toronto, was described as “questionable” by Drew.
