Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Washington Wizards player grades: This was fun

Fun! Remember fun? Well if not, this is what fun is.

NBA: Washington Wizards at Cleveland Cavaliers Ken Blaze-USA TODAY Sports

Here are your player grades for the Cleveland Cavaliers 116-101 win over the Washington Wizards:

John Wall: A+

It’s hard to argue any player helped the Cavs more than Wall on Saturday night.

Tristan Thompson: A+

This was simply one of Tristan Thompson’s best games as a member of the Cavs. 23 points, 19 boards, 6 assists and 2 blocks for the team’s leader on and off the floor.

Collin Sexton: A

Both matchups against Wall this season has resulted in Sexton putting up a career-high in points, only this time Sexton also recorded a career-high in assists with 6. The rookie point guard is learning at an impressive rate right before our eyes.

Jalen Jones: A

Not sure how much more you can realistically expect from Jones. He converted all four of his three point attempts and played impressive defense. He already seems like a more worthwhile player to look at than Billy Preston.

Larry Nance Jr.: A-

Nance continues to play better as of late, providing a spark off of the bench. He had a team-high in assists on the night with 7 and even hit two threes on his way to put up 13 points and 7 rebounds.

Alec Burks: B

Not a bad outing for Burks in his first start with the Cavs. He was decisive as a scorer, rebounded well and showed himself to be a willing passer. After only a few outings, he seems to have developed some chemistry with Collin Sexton

Cedi Osman: B

Osman still is struggling with his efficiency, but his bright flashes continue to be encouraging. The Cavs seemed to have him bring the ball up the floor often tonight, allowing Sexton, Nance, Thompson and Burks to create for themselves and others off of movement, rather than against a set defense. The adjustment seems to have paid dividends, as the team received balanced contributions across the board in the assist department.

Jaren Blossomgame: B-

Blossomgame is a fairly good athlete and was active in attacking the boards. While he stole a rebound from Thompson, his tenacity on the glass and effort on defense should warrant a continued look by the team.

Jordan Clarkson: C+

Some nights Clarkson is on, some nights he’s not. While he didn’t score well, he had a team high +23,. so at least the team didn’t struggle while he was out there.
