LeBron James has not discussed joining the Warriors

Right now, it’s just speculation.

That’s right, we’re really doing this. The notion of LeBron James joining the Golden State Warriors has been the topic de jour since ESPN’s Chris Haynes reported that LeBron would be willing to take a meeting with them.

While he odds of James leaving the Cavs would likely be considered, at best, a long-shot — It seems like the willingness to take a meeting with the Warriors isn’t something that came directly from LeBron.

Via Cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon:

As for James, a source said he would on Friday take questions about an ESPN report suggesting he would meet with the Warriors -- the Warriors, with whom he’s battled in the last three Finals -- in free agency this offseason if the defending champs were to clear salary cap space to give James a max contract.

A source close to James said he has had no discussions with anyone close to him about joining the Warriors or any other team.

The logistics of even opening up the space for LeBron aren’t simple, although it would likely give the Cavs a considerable return via a sign and trade.

But between how complicated the transaction would be, the apparent lack of interest from LeBron in making that move, plus the Warriors reported preference to pursue Anthony Davis, I think it’s safe to assume that this move will not occur.
