The Cleveland Cavaliers will wrap up a six-game road trip Saturday night against the Chicago Bulls. Starting on Monday, the team will be home for three straight games, during which fans will have a chance to bring in donations for the Greater Cleveland Food Bank.
Canned foods and non-perishable items will be collected for the 2018 Harvest for Hunger Campaign. Collection bins will be placed at each entrance into Quicken Loans Arena for all three games next week.
One in six people in Northeast Ohio are considered food insecure, which means they don’t know where their next meal will come from. Harvest for Hunger is one of the largest food and fund drives in the country. Items donated to Harvest for Hunger through the Greater Cleveland Food Bank are distributed throughout six counties to more than 800 local hunger centers.
