Tristan Thompson and Rodney Hood are both out for the Cavs’ Wednesday game against the Raptors, according to interim coach Larry Drew. Both were listed as questionable at the team’s shootaround, and Drew said both players were “close” to returning. Thompson is dealing with ankle injury, while Hood has a back issue.
Additionally, Drew said Larry Nance Jr. is targeting a weekend return, but nothing was 100 confirmed yet. Currently, the Cavs are without Nance Jr., Thompson, Hood, Kyle Korver and head coach Tyronn Lue. With so many rotation pieces currently out, it’s hard for the Cavs to gauge where they are currently at. If everyone is able to return this week, however, that would be a step in the right direction with the playoffs getting closer and closer.
With Korver and Hood out, Jose Calderon will join the starting lineup next to George Hill in the backcourt.
