LeBron would vote for himself for the 2018 NBA MVP.

In news that will undoubtedly aggregated and presented in as a shocking fact, a top tier NBA player believes he should be MVP. James Harden has been the frontrunner for the award all season, but according to LeBron James, he believes he should win the prestigious award.

”I would vote for me,” James told The Associated Press. “The body of work, how I’m doing it, what’s been happening with our team all year long, how we’ve got so many injuries and things of that nature, guys in and out, to be able to still keep this thing afloat, I definitely would vote me.”

There is no doubting that the Cavs have faced a lot of adversity this season. They started the year without a starting point guard, Tristan Thompson has been unable to stay healthy, Kevin Love missed two months, and even their trade deadline reinforcements have missed time.

But with that being said, you can’t ignore that LeBron was essentially missing in action between Christmas and the trade deadline. While his numbers were still fine for most players, it was clear that he was overwhelmed and checked out for a good portion of the season.

When you compare that to the consistent excellence of James Harden this season, it’s hard to make a legitimate case for LeBron over him. LeBron has had an MVP-caliber season, it’s just not as good as other candidates. For those lamenting about how few MVPs he’s received relative to his greatness, the outrage should be directed towards seasons like 2011, rather than this year.
