Finally, after a lot of drama and a lot of roster changes, the real season for the Cavaliers begins.
In facing the Pacers — the same team the Cavs faced last year, albeit in a No. 1 vs. No. 8 matchup instead of a No. 4 vs. No. 5 matchup — Cleveland gets a team it can beat, but maybe gets pushed by in a four or five game series. LeBron James, as always, is the ultimate advantage. Kevin Love should have his way, too.
Question, though, still remain. Will Rodney Hood be able to offer the Cavs something more consistent than he has so far? What lineups will Tyronn Lue has part of his 10-man rotation? And what will the Cavs’ defense — a problem all year, regardless of who was on the team — get better?
All things considered, though, it’s good that the playoffs are finally here. The wait has not always been fun.
