Cavaliers going with new starting lineup for Game 2

After their Game 1 loss, the Cavaliers are going with an all-new starting lineup for Wednesday’s Game 2 against the Pacers.

After saying Tyronn Lue said change the starting lineup, and after he declined to reveal it during his pregame media availability, the team announced that the team would be using a starting lineup of George Hill, Kyle Korver, J.R. Smith, LeBron James and Kevin Love for Game 2.

In Game 2, Korver played just four minutes — at least in part due to a minutes restriction — while Smith scored 15 points off the bench. The move bumps Jeff Green and Rodney Hood to the bench and has the Cavs effectively playing with three guards on the wing. After Myles Turner was able to hang in the lane while guarding Jeff Green in Game 1, Lue seems to be trying to avoid that same problem. It is also unclear at this time how this changes Lue’s rotation plan.
