George Hill out for Game 4, Jose Calderon to start

The Cavs will be without their starting point guard for Game 4.

The Cleveland Cavaliers are not used to being tested like this in the first round. While they’ve had their share of competitive series in the past, the Indiana Pacers have proven to be a legitimate threat to pull off an upset. As the team enters a crucial Game 4 down 1-2, they’ll have to find a way to even the series without their starting point guard.

George Hill has been dealing with back spasms after the Cavs Game 3 loss and receiving treatment in hopes of playing, but per Tyronn Lue, Hill is out on Sunday. Jose Calderon will start in his place.

The Cavs were 23-9 with Calderon as their starting point guard this season, and will need him to step up in a big way in this crucial game. Calderon has been a reliable option all season, but has struggled so far in this series.

Should Calderon not be productive, the team will likely need to rely exclusively on LeBron James to play point guard. With James already being asked to do so much for the team, the preference would obviously be for Calderon to step up when the team needs him.
