Kevin Love’s is done for the rest of Game 6, as the Cavs say Love is out for the rest of the game as he undergoes an evaluation for a concussion. Love left in the first quarter on Friday’s game after colliding head-on with Celtics forward Jayson Tatum with 6:58 to play in the first quarter.
After the collision, Love remained on the ground before being walked off the floor with support from George Hill and the Cavs training staff. He then was evaluated on the bench before going back to the locker room for further evaluation. He has not yet returned to the floor. Per ESPN’s Dave McMenamin, Love was still being evaluated during the second quarter.
Love was looking the other way when the play happened. Tatum was coming across the floor, following along with Hill, and the two collided as Hill popped out for a three-pointer:
This injury would also seem to cast doubt on his status for a possible Game 7. Love previously suffered a concussion in the 2016 NBA Finals. He missed one game of the series as a result.
Before leaving Game 6, Love was 0-3 from the field.
