Are You a Bettin’ Man?

So it’s finally time. Time to begin the speculation – where is Lebron going?

If you’re not a bettor, that’s fine. Keep your money in a high yield savings account. You’re probably wiser than I am.

There are a lot of options for where Lebron could go. Here are a few – and I’ll reveal where my money is laid.

Option 1: San Antonio

Lebron has always loved and respected Pops. There’s a lot of speculation that Pops will retire after this year, especially since he will be coaching the Olympics in 2020.

If Lebron wants a chance to play on a good team under an incredible coach, the Spurs are a great choice. On the other hand, he could just tip his hat to Pops and follow Kawhi Leonard to whatever team he ends up on.

After all, without Kawhi, the Spurs only have Old Men Ginobili and Parker. While Lebron has said that he wants to be with experienced players, he also wants to win, and that duo won’t do it anymore with their diminished contributions.

Option 2: The Lakers

I honestly think this is more of a talking point than a real possibility, but we can’t overlook it. So here we go.

IF Kawhi and/or Paul George end up in LA, Lebron might be interested. But the bottom line is that he wants a championship team, not a developing team with two players who are throwing diss tracks at each other.

Lebron doesn’t want to babysit children. He wants to play with men who understand and excel at the game. So I really don’t think this is anything other than a way for the media to stir the pot.

My Money’s On Houston

Now, if Lebron wants to go to a team with two other great players who are intellectual and play the game at a high level, he really should be looking at Houston. With Chris Paul and James "the beard" Hardin, Lebron would be a final piece of a new dominant "big three."

Houston almost beat Golden State this year anyway, and with everyone healthy plus Lebron? That would have been a runaway blowout, which is probably something Lebron has been dreaming of doing to Steph Curry for years.

Of course, as with all power teams, there’s a cap problem. However, by letting Clint Capela go (or not offering a generous contract,) they could make room. Unfortunately Ryan Anderson is still dead weight, but I think that if everyone wanted it, they could work something out.

Where do you think Lebron’s going?
