As the Cavaliers play in the NBA Finals, they are also looking ahead to the NBA Draft on June 21.

According to cleveland.com’s Joe Vardon, Duke big man Wendell Carter Jr. will workout for the Cavs on Wednesday prior to that evening’s Game 3. The 19-year-old recently worked out for the Bulls and told reporters in Chicago that he would be visiting with the Grizzlies, Mavericks, Magic and Knicks. All six teams are in the lottery, ranging from No. 4 overall (the Grizzlies) to No. 9 overall (the Magic).

Carter Jr. would be an interesting pick for the Cavs at No. 8. He’s a versatile big man who could give Cleveland immediate help up front. But if Kevin Love, Tristan Thompson and Larry Nance Jr. are all on the roster next season — not to mention Ante Zizic, who flashed some potential this year — is drafting a big the best option? Of course, LeBron James’ decision — which will not come until after the draft — will impact what makes the most sense for the Cavs.

Vardon also reported that the Michigan State’s Miles Bridges, another expected lottery pick, will not workout for the Cavs in Cleveland. The team, though, did he see him at a workout hosted by his agent, Rich Paul — who of course represents LeBron.
