How to watch Game 3 of the NBA Finals

Can the Cavaliers make this a series?

NBA: Finals-Cleveland Cavaliers at Golden State Warriors Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports

The Cavaliers are in desperate need of a win in Cleveland to save their season. There may be a team some day that overcomes a 3-0 deficit, but I can say with almost absolute certainty that it isn’t this Cavaliers team.

The Warriors are cooking the Cavaliers switching scheme on offense, but the Cavaliers have been consistently able to generate good looks. The only problem is that none of them have actually gone in the basket. They’ll need their shooters to actually make shots at home if they want to extend this series back to Oakland.

They’ll also need LeBron to perform closer to Game 1 standards than Game 2. It’s not fair to ask it of him, but it’s sort of a victory condition at this point if the Cavaliers are trying to make waves against this Dubs team. Not much is fair about playing the Warriors, and by definition, playing at this kind of talent deficit means that just about everybody needs to play above their baselines. That hasn’t really happened in this series outside of LeBron and George Hill, and it’s why the Cavaliers are down 2-0.
