The first look at the post-LeBron James Cavaliers will take place in October.
On Thursday, the team announced its 2018 preseason slate. Consisting of four games, the Cavs will play one road game, two games at home and one neutral site game. All of the games will air on Fox Sports Ohio.
In the away contest on Oct. 2, the Cavs will travel to Boston to face the Celtics before playing them at home four days later. Two days later on Oct. 8, the Cavs will host the Pacers before playing the Pistons in East Lansing, Michigan on Oct. 12. East Lansing is home to Michigan State University, the alma mater of team owner Dan Gilbert, his wife Jennifer and where his son Nick was attending school.
The Cavs’ preseason slate is a good mix of teams to somewhat gauge where they stand heading into the season. The Celtics are expected to be the class of the Eastern Conference, while the Pacers pushed the Cavs in the playoffs last year and are expected to be one of the better teams in the conference this year. The Pistons, on paper, should be more on the Cavs’ level.
