The Cleveland Cavaliers continue to traverse the western part of the United States, and find themselves in Salt Lake City for a matchup with the Utah Jazz. My workday was pretty crazy and we didn’t get a real preview up for this one. Apologies for that. If you’re tuning in on a quiet January Friday night waiting on the snowpocalypse, hopefully we can get a fun, competitive game.
The Jazz are missing Ricky Rubio, Thabo Sefalosha, Raul Neto, and Dante Exum. The Cavs will be without David Nwaba, Kevin Love, and John Henson.
The Cavs continue to struggle to defend, giving up over 117 points per 100 possessions. The Jazz once again have Rudy Gobert in the middle making things very difficult for attempts near the basket. That won’t bother Collin Sexton or Jordan Clarkson’s midrange games, though, so maybe the Cavs will be in decent shape!
One bummer for the Cavs is that their leading assists man in Larry Nance Jr. at 3.2 per game. Assists are not a great stat, but it would be great to see a guard step it up and distribute for teammates, especially if they aren’t scoring themselves at an efficient pace.
Well, we can’t have everything we want. Discuss the game here and enjoy your Friday night!
