The already-shorthanded Cavaliers are down a few more bodies against the Pelicans.
According to Cavs coach Larry Drew in his pre-game press conference, Rodney Hood and Matthew Dellavedova are both out Saturday night against the Pelicans. Hood is out due to a tweaked Achilles that has plagued him in recent weeks, while Dellavedova will miss his second game in a row due to a foot sprain.
With Hood and Dellavedova out, the Cavs are even thinner on the wing. Their absences mean that Alec Burks and Jordan Clarkson will have to take on more creating duties behind Collin Sexton. It also manes that Patrick McCaw, who will only be playing his third game for the Cavs tonight, will likely need to play some more minutes.
Hood and Dellavedova join Kevin Love, David Nwaba, Ante Zizic and John Henson on the injured list. J.R. Smith, as he is not with the team, is also not available.
