Will the Cavs get back on track?

NBA: Oklahoma City Thunder at Boston Celtics Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Here’s a take: It’s a little annoying that Kyrie Irving won’t play in Cleveland this season.

This is not about wanting to see him answer questions about LeBron James or his exit or anything else. This is more about the fact that he won’t play in Cleveland, where he was great for so long, for a full year. It’s the arena not getting to react to him — and we don’t really know how the fan base feels about him this point in time. And it’d be cool to find out.

Plus, Kyrie on the court means the Cavs have a better chance of losing to the Celtics. And the Cavs need to lose games.

Cavs expected starters: Collin Sexton, Deng Adel, Alec Burks, David Nwaba, Ante Zizic

Celtics expected starters: Terry Rozier, Marcus Smart, Jayson Tatum, Marcus Morris, Al Horford

Cavs status updates: Kevin Love (OUT - foot), John Henson (OUT - wrist), J.R. Smith (NWT), Tristan Thompson (OUT - foot), Cedi Osman (OUT - ankle).

Celtics status updates: Kyrie Irving (OUT - hip), Aron Baynes (OUT - foot)
