Here is your Cup of Cavs for Wednesday, Feb. 6. We’d still love your feedback, so let us know below or shoot me an email at christopherwmanning@gmail.com with your thoughts.
Take of the day
The John Wall news is brutal. Jokes will be made about his contract and how screwed the Wizards are. But think about Wall the person for a second — this is absolutely gutting. He has to know that, no matter how hard he works at his rehab or how well it goes, he may never be the same player, with that game-changing speed, again. You cant help but feel for Wall in that regard. And it makes the Kyrie Irving-John Wall debates feel so, so far away.
Here’s hoping Wall can get better. He was awesome at his peak, and dunks like this are proof. Maybe he can get better, as his friend DeMarcus Cousins seems to have. The two have already talked at least. Here’s hoping.
Also, consider this and never, ever be annoyed at players for getting paid:
When John signed his supermax, I asked why he didn't wait a year to possibly add an extra $50 million to the back end of the deal. Told me, “I only made All-NBA this year. All-NBA is not guaranteed. You never know what can happen. I never wanted to chance it, so I was like, why?”
